HOW DO WE MAKE RESERVATIONS?Booking is easy! Browse the packages we offer here, select the one that best fits your needs and budget, and submit the form to us with your preferred dates. There is no payment required when you submit the book request. After you submit your request, you will be contacted by one of our schedulers to discuss the outing you envision, the size of your group, and dates/times currently available for scheduling. A 50% deposit will hold your date and time. (See Payments below)
-
WHAT IF I NEED TO RESCHEDULE OR CANCEL?If you want to reschedule or cancel your charter, we are happy to work with you. We just ask that you let us know at least a week prior to your scheduled departure date so that we can work with you to reschedule or provide a refund of your deposit. If you need to reschedule or cancel within one week of your charter, we’ll attempt to fill your time slot with another group. If we can fill your spot, then we’ll gladly return your deposit.
-
WHAT IF THE WEATHER IS BAD ON THE DAY OF MY CHARTER?We will be monitoring the weather on the day of your charter and if for any reason we cannot go out, we will reach out to you and work with you to pick a new date. If we can’t work out a different date, we will gladly return your deposit.
-
WHAT INFORMATION DO YOU NEED WHEN I MAKE MY RESERVATION?When you book, please let us know how many people in your party, their relative sizes (infant, child, teen, adult) and what types of activities you’d like to try.
-
HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN COME ON THE BOAT?We can accommodate up to 8 people on the boat at one time. This includes both riders and guests. If you have a group size larger than 8 total, please call us. We are happy to offer creative solutions to make sure everyone in your group can find a way to enjoy the river.
-
CAN YOU TAKE OUT MORE THAN 8 PEOPLE?If you have a large party, for an additional fee, we can make arrangements to provide a comfortable (and fast) pontoon boat with a captain to accommodate up to 12 additional guests that want to follow along and watch all of the fun.
-
WHAT IS THE AGE LIMIT?Young or old, we can accommodate any age
-
HOW MUCH TIME SHOULD I RESERVE?For a beginner, we suggest booking and hour per person that wants to do an activity. So, a 2-hour charter we can usually get 2-3 people up and on the water with some nice long rides. Just keep in mind that time flies when you’re having fun, and no-one wants to feel like they didn’t get to do something they wanted to do, so we suggest 4-hour charters if you have 4 or more people that would like to learn something new.
-
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?We charge an hourly rate of $200/hour + Gas regardless of the size of the group. Our minimum booking is 2 hours. All bookings include boat, driver/instructor, gas, equipment, and safety gear.
-
HOW MUCH IS GAS GOING TO COST?We wish that gas was more predictable and less costly so we could just build it into the cost of the charter but sadly gas prices fluctuate wildly, and we wouldn’t want to charge you more that we had to for fuel. So here is how we handle fuel cost. Marine gas is usually about 30% more expensive than regular gas at the gas station. The boat burns about 6-10 gallons per hour while on charter (depending on the type of activity and how much time we spend towing vs instructing). Since there is no “average cost of marine gas in CT”, we determine the cost of marine gas by using the CT average price for car gas (AAA Gas Prices) and multiplying by 1.3 to determine our marine gas price. So, if average price of gas in CT is 5$ per gallon, the marine gas price would be $6.50, and a 2-hour trip at 6-10 gallons per hour will cost between $78-$130. To determine usage, our boat includes a gas gauge that shows the number of gallons in the tank. We’ll just make note of it at the start and finish of the charter and use that to determine the fuel charge.
-
PAYMENTWhen you make your reservation, we will charge a 50% deposit to hold the date and time (see notes about weather related changes). The remainder can be paid when you arrive for your trip. Gas usage will be computed and charged at the end of your trip. We accept Venmo, Cash App, and credit cards.
-
AM I EXPECTED TO TIP THE CREW?If you had an amazing time, then we did our job well! Tips are always appreciated and can be handled in cash or at checkout using other forms of payment when we total the fuel usage.
-
CAN I FILL OUT THE WAIVER BEFORE ARRIVING FOR THE APPOINTMENT?Yes, most certainly! Just download the waiver here and bring the completed form with you for your charter.
-
WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE FOR MY CHARTER?We ask that you show up at our meeting point 15 minutes before your start time so we can handle all of the waivers and get you setup with your safety gear before we leave the dock.
-
WHERE ARE THE PICKUP LOCATIONS?You can meet us at one of the following locations: Rocky Hill Town Boat Launch - 291 Meadow Rd, ROCKY HILL, CT 06067 Glastonbury Boat House - 252 Welles St, GLASTONBURY, CT 06033 We will meet you at the entrance to the docks.
-
WHERE SHOULD I PARK?There is a parking lot at each of our pickup locations.
-
IS THERE A BATHROOM?The two pickup locations have port-o-potties that can be used before we leave and when we drop you off. The boat does NOT have a bathroom (sorry). Therefore, for longer charters, we recommend wearing a bathing suit and bringing a towel for a quick dip in the water if nature should call.
-
WILL THERE BE SHADE ON THE BOAT - SHOULD I WEAR SUNSCREEN?Our wake boat it lots of fun but there is limited shaded area. So please be prepared to be in the sun for the duration of the charter. If you’re sensitive to the sun, please be sure to lather up well and bring a hat. If it gets warm, we are always happy to allow everyone to jump in the water for a swim or even to pull up to a nearby beach and give some shade to anyone needing it.
-
WHAT SHOULD I BRING WITH ME?We suggest wearing a bathing suit and bringing a towel and sunscreen. We will provide any watersports and safety equipment you’ll need. However, if you have your own approved life vest, watersports equipment, wakeboard, wakesurf, or even wet suit for early/late season, you are more than welcome to bring it.
-
WHAT CAN AND CAN’T I BRING ON THE BOAT?Food – We ask that you bring things that don’t crumble and can be eaten in one bite such as grapes, fruit snacks, string cheese, etc. Ideally greasy snacks or things that make a lot of crumbs are discouraged. Keep in mind that you may be bouncing around a bit. Alcoholic Beverages – Sorry but our insurance policy won’t allow alcohol on board. Water/Soda – Feel free to pack a small cooler with ice, single person bottles of water and soda or other non-alcoholic beverages in sealed containers and we will gladly help you get it on board. Just no glass, thermoses, large bottles needing cups, or un-sealed bottles or containers please. Camera or Phone – You’ll love the pictures and video you get on your charter! But please remember to keep your equipment protected from water and keep them tethered to you since we can’t be responsible for any damage or loss of your equipment from an occasional wave or sudden bounce. Pets – Sorry, pet paws put holes in our seats so they will have to sit this one out Cigarettes, Cigars, or other Smoking Devices – You’ll be having so much fun, there won’t be any time for smoking while on board. So please leave these at home.
-
HOW MANY ACTIVITIES CAN I TRY?We are more than happy to let you try whatever activities you would like during your charter. Just let us know before your appointment so we can be sure to have the equipment on board.
-
WHAT IF I DON’T WANT TO GO IN THE WATER?We welcome both riders and spectators alike. There’s no additional fee for spectators. One word of advice, our wake boats don’t have bathrooms. There are portable toilets at our pickup and drop-off locations, but a quick dip in the water can often be easier than a return to the dock. So, wearing a bathing suit and bringing a towel is never a bad idea.
-
DO WE HAVE TO WEAR A LIFE JACKET?We know it’s not ideal, but our insurance policy requires that all guests wear life jackets at all times while on board. We can provide them or if you have one of your own that’s comfortable, you’re welcome to bring it.
-
WHAT ELSE CAN WE DO WHILE ON CHARTER?If you’re booking a longer charter (4-8 hour), we offer the option of taking a trip down to a popular local island beach area to hang out or have lunch so people can get out of the boat for a little while. This is also a great place throw around a football or frisbee. For these options you can pack a full lunch and eat on the beach.
